The budget-friendly BlackBerry Z3 which has been exclusively available in Indonesia since May, has been looming on India’s horizon since long and the time to make it official has finally come. The Canadian brand has just announced an event slated to is to take place on June 25 which is largely believed to have been aimed at unveiling the BB 10-powered smartphone.

The Z3 from BlackBerry may not be the only handset to see the light of the day on the aforesaid date however. The press invite from the company has mentioned that it will revolve around the unveiling of ‘next generation BlackBerry 10 devices.’ There is hence the possibility of the Q20 (Classic) also making its way into the nation next week.
The star of the show will definitely be the BlackBerry Z3 smartphone which is a full-touch smartphone manufactured in partnership with Taiwan’s Foxconn. It’s getting a fair share of attention mainly due to its Rs 11000 to Rs 14000 price that puts it in the affordable category. In Indonesia, it can be bought at IDR 2199000 which means it could very well be priced around the Rs 10000 mark in India.
Here’s a quick look at the kind of specifications which the BlackBerry Z3 will pack inside it:
- Display: 5-inch, qHD resolution
- SoC: 1.2GHz dual core Qualcomm MSM8230
- Platform: BlackBerry 10 OS
- Camera: 5MP rear, 1.1MP front
- Battery: 2500mAh
- Memory: 1.5GB RAM, 8GB storage
- Expandable up to 32GB
If the BlackBerry Z3 is indeed unveiled on June 25, it is most likely to go on sale sometime in July. We’ll be sure to bring you all the details related to the handset when they’re out.
