New Delhi: Messaging app WhatsApp will now give users the option to get notifications which would tell them that the messages they are exchanging are encrypted end-to-end.

The Facebook owned messaging app is also planning to integrate users WhatsApp account to their respective Facebook account.

"We are a couple of months away from calling it done. Soon we will be able to talk more about this," WhatsApp co-founder Jan Koum had said earlier this month.

As of January 2016, WhatsApp had a user base of up to 990 million, making it the most globally popular messaging application.

Based in Mountain View, California, WhatsApp Inc., was acquired by Facebook Inc. on February 19, 2014, for approximately USD 19.3 billion.
