San Francisco: Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation Sony has announced its much-awaited virtual reality headset for PlayStation giving tough competition to its virtual reality gaming counterpart Oculus Rift.
The virtual reality headset is expected to be launched globally in October this year for USD 399.
The headset comes with 360 degree head tracking, a 100 degree field of vision and latency of 18 milliseconds between the time a user's head moves and the time they see the correct image, Reuters reported.
"We firmly believe getting the price right is crucial to driving consumer adoption of any new technology," said Andrew House, head of Sony's gaming division.
