KCR Pays Homage To Prof Jayashankar. KCR, the Chief Minister of Telangana, paid homage to the late Prof Jayashankar on the eve of the latter’s third death anniversary.

Hyderabad: KCR, the Chief Minister of Telangana, paid homage to the late Prof Jayashankar on the eve of the latter’s third death anniversary. He later addressed the crowd and said that it was an unbearable loss to Telangana community that we didn’t have Prof Jayashankar in between us when Telangana state has been realised. He recollected all the memories of Telangana movement. Later, many other leaders and MLAs of TRS have also spoken. Telangana Bhavan echoed with the chanting of Jayashankar slogans.

From the other end, the third death anniversary of Prof Jayashankar, the ideologue of Telangana movement, was held at Ekashila Park in Hanmakonda on Saturday. Rajaiah, the Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana, Madhusudana Chary, the Speaker of the state assembly, Kadiyam Srihari, a TRS MP, and Warangal district collector Kishan has paid tributes to the professor Jayashankar’s statue. In this milieu Rajaiah addressed the crowd and said that Ekashila Park would be developed as Jayashankar Udyanavanam. Further, he said that during the district reorganisation process, Bhoopalapalli district would be named after Prof Jayashankar.

It is worth recollecting here that Kothapalli Jayashankar aptly known as Professor Jayashankar was born on August 6, 1934 and breathed his last on June 21, 2011. He was the ideologue of Telangana Movement. He had been fighting for a separate state since 1952. He often stated that unequal distribution of river water was the root cause of separate Telangana movement. He was the former Vice Chancellor of Kakatiya University and an activist in the Separate Telangana Movement.
