Hyderabad: The South Central railway (SCR) General Manager P K Srivastava called on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at the Secretariat here on Friday. The SCR GM briefed the Chief Minister on the ongoing Railway projects in Telangana and the plans for further expansion of Railway network and services in the State. He sought the assistance of the government in the development of rail infrastructure in the State, to which KCR responded positively.

The Chief Minister advised the SCR officials to speed up the progress of the sanctioned projects in the State. He reviewed the current status of important projects such as setting up of a wagon manufacturing factory at Kazipet, new railway lines of Peddapalli-Nizamabad and Manoharabad-Kothapalli and others.

KCR also enquired on the progress of the MMTS Phase-II project and the possibility of increasing the number of MMTS services. He stressed on the need to develop new passenger terminals at convenient locations so as to reduce the congestion at the existing 3 major terminals in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
KCR promised all requisite help from the State government regarding sparing of land and other clearances for setting up the additional terminals.
