Briefing presspersons after a review with medical officials here on Thursday, T Rajaiah would establish super specialty and multispecialty hospital in every village and mandal. He also said PHCs would be upgraded by appointing four doctors in each centre. The government would soon introduce biometric systems in hospital to ensure that the doctors and the staff attend to their duties on time.

Apart from it, the government is planning to add more diseases to existing 938 in the Arogya-sri scheme, he said.

The Minister said the government would focus attention more on the seasonal diseases in the tribal community. "An awareness programme on the contagious diseases in the tribal region would be conducted. Those affected with contagious disease would be isolated and given corporate treatment," the minister said.

Rajaiah directed officials to complete all the pending projects. He wanted the officials to provide accurate estimates for projects to be taken up, so that they can be included in the budget. "The government would purchase required equipment for primary health centres, community health centre or area hospitals," said the Minister.
Speaking about security and sanitation in the hospitals, he said a Mumbai-based agency has been roped in to monitor the situation in the hospitals.

Like private hospitals, the government hospitals would allow visitors to meet patients only at stipulated timings. The Minister directed officials to use hospital funds for the sanitation purposes in the hospitals.
