A midnight raid by Police to bust a fake currency racket at Tumukunta near Shamirpet led to a clash between the gang and the cops.

According to a latest report, an unidentified person and a police constable Eshwarayya were killed during the clashes. SI Venkata Reddy suffered minor injuries.

Acting on a tip off that a suspicious activities were underway, the Bolaram police rushed to Tumukunta along with 8 other personnel. The cops were keeping an eye on a suspiciously moving vehicle near a temple. However, when the police tried to surround them, there was an exchange of gun fire leading to the death of an unidentified person. While Eeshwarayya was declared dead at the hospital, the SI being treated at Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad.

The police say that of the four accused, one died and the other three escaped in a Bolero vehicle. The police has launched a manhunt to nab the other culprits.
