Hyderabad: Prof Tummala Papi Reddy is appointed as the Chairman of Telangana State Council of Higher Education. The Telangana state government on Tuesday issued orders to this effect. It is evident that the Telangana state government decided to set up its own council of higher education following the one side decision taken by the Andhra Pradesh Council of Higher Education to go on with the EAMCET counseling.
A vital decision to establish the Telangana State Council of Higher Education was taken in just three days and a G.O. has been issued (G.O. No.5) for the same by the Telangana state government on Saturday.
The council functions with a chairman, full time members and a vice chairman. The Vice Chancellors of Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Jawarharlal Nehru Technological University, Telangana University, Mahatma Gandhi University, Palamuru University and Shatavahana University will be functioning as the ex officio members.
