Hyderabad: The Telangana Assembly will undergo several changes to suit the Vastu requirements of the Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. KCR, who made a surprise visit to the State Assembly on Saturday, held a meeting with the Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary, Telangana Legislative Council chairman Swamy Goud, Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish Rao, Assembly Secretary Raja Sadaram and others. KCR, who is a believer in Vastu, asked the officials to see that the entrance to the Assembly premises was from eastern side and suggested some minor changes to the seating arrangements and Ministers chambers. The Chief Minister told Speaker to reduce the number of seats in the Assembly from the earlier 294, which was the strength of the Assembly in united AP, to 119.

It was also decided that necessary repairs to the old Assembly block may also be carried since the budget session of both the Assemblies are scheduled to be held soon. Apart from taking up patch work, there was need to relay the roads inside the Assembly premises and sprucing up the lawns. KCR told the Speaker that the cost of the repairs of the joint assets be shared between the two States in the ratio of 58:42 per cent. The meeting also attains significance as the budget session of Telangana State Assembly is likely to be held in second week of September.
