Warangal: Responding to TDP MLA Dayakar Rao’s challenge that he should resign to the post and seek fresh election, the MP Srihari said he would seek fresh election if the former too agreed to do so.

Speaking to press persons here on Tuesday, Srihari maintained that Dayakar Rao made serious efforts to join the TRS and to become Minister in the state cabinet. But his attempts were halted by district leaders, he stated.

“On account of that, the TDP MLA developed a grudge against me and my fellow leaders in the party and has been going on venting his ire on losing the chance to become the Minister,” the TRS MP explained.

Further Srihari told Dayakar Rao to mind his language. “He is just an MLA, but I am an MP elected by more people. The TDP leader should learn how to speak to his fellow politicians or else he would have to face the wrath of public,” he said.

The TRS leader claimed that while he was a Minister he made lot of contribution to the district development. “I was responsible for completion of SRSP canals, setting up social welfare residential schools and improved rural road network,” he added.

The proposed plan by TDP leaders to go to New Delhi and meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking more power to the state would yield nothing. It was the TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu who was blocking power supply that was due to the new state.

Hence, the TDP MLAs should convince their leader and ensure the share of power supply to Telangana instead of criticising the TRS state government. It was not proper on the part of TDP to gain political mileage while farmers were in distress due to the power crisis, he suggested.
