Hyderabad: In a strategic move to blunt the opposition attack, the TS government has decided to hold evening sessions during the nearly one month-long budget session commencing from November 5.

According to official sources, TRS government has decided to introduce the budget 2014-15 on the first day of the session. This would help the government take the stand that the opposition could raise issues like loan waiver, power problems in the state etc during the discussion on demands for grants.

During the evening session, it can take up the issue of modifying laws made in the undivided state to suit needs of Telangana State. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao held a review meeting with Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma and Assembly officials here on Tuesday and decided that the budget would be introduced by Finance Minister Etela Rajendra in the Assembly and Deputy Chief Minister T Rajaiah in the Legislative Council on November 5.

Additional portfolios to State Ministers

He also assigned additional portfolios to the ministers during the assembly session. Etela Rajendra would handle BC, SC and ST welfare and endowments besides finance. Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao will handle issues relating to power and GAD. K Taraka Rama Rao has been given additional charge of industries and textiles, Naini Narasimha Reddy law and order, Mahmood Ali minority welfare and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy municipal administration.
