The boy, whose legs were chained, managed to escape from the Madarsa along with two other students and hid themselves in a field in Miryalaguda. They were spotted by a local farmer, who informed the police and the media. The boys said they had escaped from the institution unable to bear the torture by the organisers. The police, who took the trio into protective custody, admitted them to Miryalaguda area hospital. They took up investigation.

Several child rights activists here demanded action against the Madarsa, which they alleged, had abandoned its aim of imparting education to the poor boys and girls and resorting to undesirable activities.
