Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has decided to lead an all-party delegation to New Delhi and appraise the Centre of the present power crisis in his State.

KCR on Monday made a scathing attack on AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s move to dishonour the Power Purchase Agreements (PPA). He said Naidu had hatched a conspiracy to push Telangana farmers into deep trouble.

Participating in a debate under Rule 344 in the Assembly on Monday, he said the AP government has cancelled all the PPAs entered with Telangana Discoms unilaterally. With the scrapping of the agreements, Telangana has been deprived of 980 MW of power from the projects located in Andhra Pradesh.

He said though Central Electricity Authority (CEA), APERC (AP Electricity Regulatory Commission) and Neeraj Mathur Committee pulled up the AP government on PPAs, Naidu was not in a mood to obey the orders and further he complained to the Centre against Telangana on the generation of power from Nagarjunasagar and Srisailam projects and also made it into a big political issue.

The Chief Minister wondered why the Centre remained a mute spectator even as his government brought the PPAs issue to its notice. He said Prime Minister's Office (PMO) even declined his request to meet the PM. Centre's discrimination against Telangana had cost heavy price to the State. He called all parties to unite and support the government in the fight against the AP and Centre.
