Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has directed District Collectors to issue new Food Security and Pension cards from January 1. In the New Year, people should get new ration cards and new pensions, he stressed.
KCR on Monday held a review meeting with Collectors of 10 districts and senior bureaucrats on various schemes and flagship programmes of the government. He told the Collectors to finish verification process to identify beneficiaries for pensions by December 15 and food security by December 31. Further, he told them to appoint a nodal officer for each constituency to make sure this verification formalities were finished as per deadline.
The Chief Minister expressed his unhappiness over delay in completion of pension beneficiaries list, which was leading to apprehensions and unnecessary confusion.
He told them to ensure no eligible person missed out as government was willing to go to any length to release budget for these schemes.
Meanwhile, he directed Collectors to take steps to safeguard government lands in districts. He asked them to explore possibilities of accommodating all government offices in one or two buildings.
He told Collectors to give right of way for laying pipelines for drinking water grid and take stringent action against encroachers in tanks revival drive.
Chief Minister wanted them to expedite road construction and improvement works which would be taken up in large scale in all constituencies. Collectors themselves should check the quality of works on regular basis, he said.
