Govt sanctions 261 cr for roads & bridges in Sirpur
The State government has sanctioned Rs 261 crore for developing roads and construction of new roads and bridges in Sirpur Assembly constituency. A GO was released to this effect, Sirpur MLA Koneru Konappa told the media here on Tuesday.

He said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had fulfilled the long-pending desire of people of the constituency by sanctioning funds for construction of a bridge between Gudem and Ahiri on the Pranahita. The government sanctioned Rs 90 crore for the bridge. Once completed, it would provide a shorter route from Hyderabad to Raipur in Chhattisgarh. The distance would be reduced by 100 km.
He said KCR also sanctioned Rs 7.4 crore for construction of some bridges. Rs 4.9 crore has been allocated for two bridges on the Kagaznagar-Easgaon route. Rs 2.5 crore has been allocated for a bridge in place of a causeway on the Dabba- Koutala route.
An amount of Rs 128 crore has been sanctioned for widening of R& B roads in five mandals of Sirpur constituency. For developing the Kagaznagar-Sarasala road Rs 18 crore has been sanctioned. Rs. 25 crore each has been sanctioned for widening of Koutala-Sirpur and Kagaznagar-Babasagar roads.
The government sanctioned Rs 36 crore for widening the Kagaznagar-Dahegaon road. It also sanctioned Rs 16 crore for conversion of the Panchayat Roads. The works will be taken up between Koutala and Tumdiheti, Koutala and Salugupalli, Penchikalpet and Salugupalli, Dinda and Chittam and Konchavelli and Gerre.
Konappa said the government sanctioned Rs 20 crore for new roads of 51 km. Meanwhile, TRS workers burst crackers and took part in celebrations at the release of funds by KCR.
