Sircilla (Karimnagar): IT and Panchayat Raj Minister K Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) has announced that Sircilla will be developed into best municipality in the country. He launched e-surveillance system at Sircilla town in Karimangar district on Friday.

The Minister reviewed a guard of honour and inaugurated the e-surveillance centre on the premises of local police station. The police will monitor law and order situation and traffic through the closed circuit cameras installed at main centres in the town.

KTR opened a family counselling centre which was set up to resolve disputes between couples and to prevent suicides of handloom weavers and a computer centre for storing data related to cases filed through ‘e-Sweekar’ programme.
The Minister also opened a FM radio station set up by the police and lauded SP, DSP and CI Vijay Kumar for using the media to develop traffic awareness among the town residents.

The Minister said that plans were afoot to develop Sircilla as the best municipality in the country. SP and DSP will use the sophisticated e-surveillance system to make Sircilla a crime-free town. Six electronic gates will be installed around the town so that the gates can be closed at a time after incidence of crimes to nab the suspects, he added.

KTR announced that proposals were prepared for constructing an outer ring road to the town with an expenditure of Rs 30 crore. He said that foundation stone for women’s degree college and women’s polytechnic will be laid soon and the works will be completed on a war footing basis.

Pension distribution from Dec 10 to 15
KTR said that social security pensions would be disbursed from December 10 and 15 in rural areas. The eligible persons can approach officials or elected representatives if pension was not sanctioned to them. He promised that efforts would be made for sanctioning central funds for upgrading Textile Park in Sircilla into textile zone of mega cluster. The Minister revealed that Chief Minister K Chandrasekar Rao was taking steps to attract Information Technology companies to Karimnagar district.

Earlier, the Minister laid foundation stone for Baddenapalle-Peddalingapur road taken up at a cost of Rs 6.5 crore. He also inaugurated additional classrooms constructed at a cost of Rs 35 lakh in government school at Ogulapura village.

The Minister performed ‘Bhumipuja’ for construction of Registration and ICDS offices in the town.
