Everest heroes recall their thrilling & fearful experiences

Vikarabad: The youngest Everest heroes, Purna and Anand, on Saturday enlightened the gathering at a felicitation function, here, about their experiences during their thrilling and fearful expedition, like sidestepping many bodies and eating chocolates to survive, even though they don’t like them.

They were speaking at the function with Social Welfare department Principal Secretary Praveen Kumar as the chief guest. The youth icons said Praveen Kumar, their coaches and parents were their inspiration to take up the successful climb of the highest peak Everest. Purna observed that she had taken up the task to prove that girls could undertake any challenge.

Addressing the gathering, Praveen Kumar laid stress on education which alone could earn enormous public respect. Recalling his student days, the officer remarked that he had to struggle to even to get 50 paise. From that stage, he was now signing cheques worth crores of the department employees.

He advised students in the gathering to master English, as it was a global language. District Education Officer Ramesh, Deputy DEO Harichand, MEO Govardhan Reddy, and officials of a private school, the function venue, were present.
