Hyderabad: The Chairman of Telangana State Public Service Commission, Ganta Chakrapani, said that the commission would give top priority to fill over one lakh vacant jobs and it would soon issue an employment calendar for various examinations. Speaking to newsmen at TSPSC Bhavan here on Thursday, Chakrapani said that calendar will give details about the various competitive examinations that will be held under TSPSC. The calendar will give all details such as date of examinations, how to apply and last date, results, so and so forth,” he said.

He said the calendar would be released after a discussing with members and seeking the approval of the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. He asserted that the new team would root out corruption which had become the order of the day in the past regime. “There will be no room for the politicians and middlemen in the commission and we will see that TSPSC becomes a model for others,” Chakrapani said.

Talking to The Hans India, he said the commission would ensure transparency and soon they will work out a road map consisting of best practices for curtailing irregularities. “It is not a big issue, we can easily do it. We will study how to go about it using information and communication technologies,” he added.

Chakrapani further said that they would try to bring about major changes in the working of the commission. Entire information will be made available on the website soon, right from applying to downloading of hall tickets, candidates will not have to come to commission.

The candidates will have to come only to attend interviews or for taking appointment letters, he said. He also felt that there was need to change syllabus for various examinations. C Vittal, member of the commission, said that appointments will be only on the merit basis. He called upon students not to protest for the release of notification as it would be issued soon. Banoth Chandravathi, another member stressed on the need to re-design the syllabus in view of the requirements of the new state.
