Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is leading the State nowhere. There seems to be neither a vivid vision nor an actionable mission. With a clear mandate and a massive trust reposed in him by the people of Telangana, he should have taken off by at least attempting to fulfil the poll promises made in the party manifesto.
However, like a regular politician, who has become a 'CM by chance,' he is fervently trying to consolidate his position with misplaced and baseless insecurities.
By poaching leaders and elected representatives from other parties in hordes and indiscriminately, he is only exposing a lack of ideological variations and sincerity of purpose. It is quite evident from media coverage in the past six months that this government is only focused on 'party agenda' and not any 'people's agenda'. Instead of moving forward for the welfare of the distressed and distraught farmers of Telangana, who are committing suicides, the government is stuck with divisive vote-bank politics by way of minority appeasement at every step. Neither is there empathy for the anguished farmers nor are any initiatives being taken to redress their apathy.
Rao and his administration are more focused on Hyderabad for a variety of reasons. Periodically talking of silly skyscrapers and skyways for the city is akin to 'buying an expensive perfume, when one does not have clothes to wear'.
The other nine districts of Telangana are bereft of the much-required power, water, irrigation projects, medical infrastructure, school infrastructure, transport facilities and employment avenues. But we have a Head of the State, who is indulging in frivolous appeasement with inaugurations of bhavans for each caste and religion. These bhavans might be useful for the sycophants and political opportunists to perform bhajans for Rao. Besides these, they actually serve no other purpose. Crores spent on their construction will neither add any value to the deprived or distressed lot nor will it fill empty stomachs of millions. In short, this exercise is a sheer waste of public money.
Suffice to conclude that the government, spearheaded by Chandrashekar Rao, is unfortunately only going round in circles on a merry-go-round ride while doing nothing significantly constructive that is worth mentioning.
