The TRS also wants to weaken the constituencies represented by A Revanth Reddy (Kodangal), Errabelli Dayakar Rao (Palakurthi), Rajendar Reddy (Narayanpeta) and S Venkata Veraiah (Sattupalli) by attracting junior leaders and their followers to the pink party and thereby weaken their position in the constituencies.
KCR’s master plan to weaken Senior Cong, TDP leaders
Hyderabad: Even as the Congress is searching for an aggressive leader to take on the mighty TRS in Telangana, the pink party has intensified its efforts to make further dent in the Congress bastions in the State by poaching second-rung Congress leaders in important districts like Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar and Khammam districts. The TRS is also focussing its attention on weaning away some important TDP leaders in these districts.
According to sources, hectic internal political activity is on in the TRS with Chief Minister and party chief KCR giving his nod to lure the followers of Congress leaders like J Geeta Reddy in Zaheerabad, K Jana Reddy in Nagarjunasagar, N Uttam kumar Reddy in Huzurnagar, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka in Madhira, DK Aruna in Gadwal , T Jeevan Reddy in Manchiryal, G Chinna Reddy in Wanaparthi and R Venkat Reddy elected from Palair in Khammam district.
The ministers of the respective districts and TRS MLAs have been entrusted with the task to find out the district-level leaders who are curious to join the TRS. Apart from these leaders, the MLAs have been asked to hold parleys with DCCB directors, ZPTC (Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency) members, Mandal Parishad Presidents, MPTC (Mandal Parishad Terrotorial Constituency) members, Market Committee chairmen and directors, Municipal chairmen and sarpanches and other leaders who held nominated posts in the previous Congress government. Most of them are close to senior Congress and TDP leaders in these districts.
Sources said the TRS MLAs who were given the task, have already plunged into action and busy holding talks with the Opposition leaders. For instance, Munugodu MLA from Nalgonda district K Prabhakar Reddy has been camping in the Nagarjunasagar constituency for the last one week and is meeting the Congress leaders who are close to Jana Reddy. Dubbaka MLA S Ramalinga Reddy is meeting the followers of Geeta Reddy in Medak district.
