Will North-South division impact Telangana?

Right after bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, many are under the impression that Telangana will live peacefully. But surprisingly division between North and South region in the state is creating new fears.

Assembly too witnessed protests by South Telangana saying that the ruling TRS is forcing culture of the northern districts on them. They said they oppose Mission Kakatiya name for water tanks scheme restoration. They also said they are opposed to celebrating Batukamma, state festival as they only celebrate Bonalu.

Analysts say only North Telangana people and the political leadership of north Telangana (Adilabad, Nizamabad, Medak, Karimnagar and Warangal) carried out Telangana agitation and South Telangana (Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Khammam) stayed away from it or sometimes only were forced to take part in the movement.

Now. with TRS government planning to divert Hyderabad revenues to North Telangana for development, it may create further divide in the South. it has to be seen how political and educated class handle this situation.
