Final voters’ list of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) was released here on Sunday which indicated an increase of 38,000 voters in the corporation limits.

Hyderabad: Final voters’ list of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) was released here on Sunday which indicated an increase of 38,000 voters in the corporation limits.

According to the final voter list, there are a total of 40.43 lakh voters with an increase of 38,000 new voters under 15 Assembly constituencies under GHMC limits. Latest census shows that Bahadurpura Assembly constituency in the Old City has registered the highest number of 5,000 new voters while in Nampally area only 747 new voters were registered.

According to draft voters’ list released on November 13, there were 40,05,159 registered voters. But after verification, the number of voters increased to 40,43,491. During the verification of voters’ list, 7,289 duplicate voters’ names were deleted. Of the 45,621 new applications, 38,332 names were enlisted in the new voter list, GHMC officials said.

During verification, it was found that Bahadupura registered the highest number of 5,515 new voters followed by Jubilee Hills 4,601, Khairatabad 3,196, Karwan 3,116, Goshamahal 1,159 and Charminar 1,869 while Nampally registered the lowest number of 747 persons as new voters. In Mahbubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad districts’ graduates council constituency, there are a total of 2,86,311 registered voters. Compared to last year’s draft voter list, only 78 persons were registered as new voters and 6,820 voters found to be bogus whose names were deleted from the list.

According to latest graduate-constituency voters list, Ranga Reddy district registered the highest number of 1,33,003 voters while in Mahbubnagar graduates’ constituency, the lowest number of 66,100 voters were registered. In Ranga Reddy district, a total of 39,219 persons enlisted as new voters while in Hyderabad 12,116 were new voters.
