Rakesh, from Sripuram village in Nagarkurnool mandal in the district, died of swine flu on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at Osmania General Hospital (OGH) in Hyderabad. Rakesh was working as a lecturer in a private junior college at Atmakur and residing at Wanaparthy.

Family members of Rakesh admitted him to a private hospital at Wanaparthy one week ago as he was suffering from severe cold and cough.
He was shifted to the OGH on Saturday as he had difficulty in breathing.Srinivasulu, one of the relatives of Rakesh, said that doctors told them that Rakesh had died because of swine flu. He stated that Rakesh got married 14 months ago.
A pall of gloom descended on Sripuram village with Rakesh’s death. Villagers are in fear after knowing that Rakesh had died due to swine flu.
