Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday said that the Government did not issue any instructions to hike property tax in GHMC limits and authorities are only undertaking re-examination of nursing homes.


The CM referred to the BJP MLA Mr Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, MIM Floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi and others demand to stop the forcible tax collection and hike in the property tax; also that he was told that Rs 32,000 crore was allotted for the Mumbai Municipal Corporation budget and that more Rs 4,000 crore was to be added raising it to Rs. 36,000 crore.


The CM added that most of the cases, property tax is not assessed correctly especially commercial establishments and nursing homes. Stating that the poor will be taken care of, KCR said that a meeting will be held with city legislators to sort out the issue.


KCR also included more - Minorities including Muslims to get pension equal to others along with 4 percent reservations, pattas will be issued by the government to eligible applicants after the MLC polls and pensions will be ensured to every eligible person.
