Hyderabad: A day after suspension, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) floor leader E Dayakar Rao on Tuesday urged Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary to revoke the suspension to enable them to attend the Budget session. In a letter addressed to the Speaker, Dayakar is said to have agreed to tender an apology for what happened during the Governor’s address.
Dayakar also stated that the House witnessed the TRS members attacking the TDP leaders. Yet, the government suspended TDP members on the pretext of showing disrespect to the National Anthem, he said.
Dayakar said though the TDP members did not show any disrespect to the National Anthem, still they had decided to offer an apology if the House so felt.
He objected to the way the Assembly Affairs Minister T Harish Rao had targeted the Opposition party. He alleged that the TRS hatched a conspiracy for not showing the video footage of the assault in the House to the floor leaders only to protect the TRS members who attacked the TD leaders on the first day. Dayakar found fault with the TRS government for offering the contract of Assembly coverage proceedings to a relative of Harish Rao.
The TDP will take up a rally from Assembly premises to Raj Bhavan on Wednesday to complain to Governor on the manner in which the government is conducting the Assembly.
Though the Speaker did not ask TDP members to tender an apology, the House suspended them for the entire session with a conspiracy to throttle their voice, he alleged. Dayakar said the TDP members failed to understand whether it was the Speaker who was conducting the House or the Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish Rao.
