Toddler Abducted, Traced. In a mysterious incident of kidnap, a two-year-old girl was allegedly abducted near High Court Gate No 6 here at Ghansi Bazar area, where she was playing with a few children on Wednesday.
Hyderabad: In a mysterious incident of kidnap, a two-year-old girl was allegedly abducted near High Court Gate No 6 here at Ghansi Bazar area, where she was playing with a few children on Wednesday.
However, she was traced to Guntur Town and the police arrested the accused, Hanumanth Rao, in this connection, according to Additional DCP(South) K Babu Rao. Charminar Police have registered a case on the basis of a complaint lodged by the girl's father. In his statement, Vishnu, a tea vendor near Gate No 6 of High Court, said Mounica was playing with a few other kids of her age near the shop, while her family members were busy with the customers at the shop a little distance away.
The father said he and his wife were keeping an eye on her, but around 10 am they could not find her in the group. After receiving information around 11 am, police swung into action and formed five teams to nab the kidnappers. Video footage recorded by surveillance cameras located on the main roads near the court has given crucial leads to the Charminar police.
Investigation officers have examined the CCTV footage and tracked the man who walked away with the baby and boarded an auto-rickshaw. “We identified the man with the three video clips we had,” said the cops.
