Metro Rail will be completed in time
Dispelling doubts about the possible delay of Hyderabad Metro Rail, the Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao assured that the project would be completed as per schedule by the year 2017. Replying to a question during the Question Hour in the Legislative Council, he said the L&T company, which has taken up the project, would be completing it as per the schedule. He said a ‘special task force’ was regularly monitoring the progress.
The Minister further informed that the first Metro would be run between Nagole and Secunderabad after extension, as the distance between Nagole to Mettuguda was only eight kilometres. However, the Minister skipped the direct question of Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, MLC on alleged irregularities in handing over some of the lands acquired for Metro to private builders.
