Hope of a better life for the conjoined sisters Veena and Vani is still a mirage. Although doctors from London have agreed to take them and operate on them free of cist, the certification from the AIIMS is still pending that in turn is delaying the process.

The Government of Telangana is understood to have written to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, seeking its opinion on sending the conjoined twins Veena and Vaani to London for their separation with the help of surgery to be conducted by medical experts there.

The conjoined twins who are in the custody and supervision of the doctors at Niloufer Hospital since their birth were visited by a team of doctors from London recently who offered to separate them surgically if they were brought to their hospitals in Great Britain.

Abandoned and nowhere to go the conjoined twins are facing an uncertain future after parents refused doctors' request to take them home Veena and Vani's parents say they can't afford to care for them. Unfortunately, nine-year-old Veena and Vani though got to see their parents after nearly two years, but did not receive any sort of recognition or any emotions from them.
