Rahul summons TPCC leaders to Delhi
With just five days left for filing the nomination for MLC seat under MLA quota, AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi asked TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and other senior leaders to come to New Delhi on May 18 to finalise the party candidate.

Hyderabad: With just five days left for filing the nomination for MLC seat under MLA quota, AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi asked TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and other senior leaders to come to New Delhi on May 18 to finalise the party candidate.
According to top AICC sources, the party high command was baffled to receive a list of 40 names when the party asked the State unit to send a list of probable candidates. When the issue was brought to the notice of Rahul Gandhi by AICC leaders who are in charge of party affairs in Telangana, Rahul who was here on Friday advised the TPCC leaders to come to Delhi on May 18 for consultations.

He is said to have expressed his unhappiness over sending such a big list. What has irked the AICC is that the TPCC continues to suffer from lack of coordination among senior party leaders. It is said Rahul Gandhi wants to personally monitor the functioning of the TPCC and try to revive the party in the State. It is learnt that the AICC has sent clear instructions that the State unit should not recommend the names of those who were defeated in 2014 elections.
Following this, the TPCC prepared a list recommending names of second rung leaders. Rahul Gandhi is also likely to take stock of the party position and its preparedness for the GHMC elections. Uttam Kumar and other leaders exude confidence that Rahul would visit Hyderabad during July or August and would interact with State and district level Congress leaders.
