Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) leaders met Governor E S L Narasimhan over the attack on Wanaparti MLA G Chinna Reddy in Khilla Ghanpur allegedly by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) activists. They sought the Governor’s intervention over deteriorating political situation in the State and appealed him to protect democracy and its values.

Prior to the meeting with the Governor, TPCC which organised extended executive meeting, strongly condemned the TRS government, while accusing Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of running the government ‘undemocratically’. Briefing the media persons, the party working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the party men, during the meeting, expressed concerns that Chandrashekar Rao was resorting to dictatorial and fascist style of governance.

The meeting was attended by TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Leaders of Opposition in Assembly and Legislative Council, K Jana Reddy and Mohammed Ali Shabbir, former PCC president D Srinivas, MPs Nandi Yellaiah, Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar and several other leaders.

During the meeting, they also discussed plans for the first anniversary of Telangana Formation Day, where Sonia Gandhi is likely to visit. “We will celebrate the day at mandal and district levels, while hoisting flags in all party offices and organising various programmes,” said Bhatti Vikramarka.
