Hyderabad: After Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's announcement to issue notification for 25,000 jobs, the government is currently clearing decks for hassle-free process of recruitment. In connection with this, the government intends to review the current zonal system to cut down on number of competitors from AP seeking jobs in Telangana under open category.
The government has sought the opinion of the law department on the same as the issue is inextricably linked with the Article 371(D). Currently, there are two zones in Telangana - namely zone V and zone VI. Zone V comprises Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam districts. Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar, Medak and Nalgonda are under zone VI.
The key option before the government in this regard is to increase the number of zones or define the State as a single unit bidding adieu to zones. According to a senior official in TSPSC, the required changes can be made through a GO and have to be notified by the President of India.
Meanwhile, recruitment for all the corporations has come under the Telangana State Public Service Commission's umbrella. The government which adopted the Andhra Pradesh State Public Service Commission Act had amended the Act bringing the recruitment of corporations’ under the purview Telangana Public Service Commission.
In united AP, this was not the case as corporations themselves had carried out their own recruitment. Already the Telangana Public Service Commission has received requisition from the Telangana State Beverage Corporation and public health wing of Municipality department to fill 350 and 630 respectively.
