Upset over their stipend not getting a hike, Telangana doctors stated that despite the government order to increase 15 percent of the stipend every two years, the hike has not been implemented which was proposed in 2014.


A junior doctor at the Osmania General Hospital, Dr G Srinivas informed that they get 20,000 per month in the first year and Rs 23,000 in the final year while other states, doctors are paid Rs 45,000 to Rs 60,000 per month. The junior doctor stated that they only want the proposed hike to be implemented.


On Sunday, the junior doctors from Gandhi Hospital and Osmania General Hospital discussed the issues along with the issue of increasing number of seats as only 12 post-graduate seats were allotted for Telangana in 2015-16.
