Cong opposes design change
Cong opposes design change. Alleging that the TRS government was selling lands in Ranga Reddy district to fill its coffers, former Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy said the government was showing no interest in providing water to irrigate lands in Ranga Reddy district.

Hyderabad: Alleging that the TRS government was selling lands in Ranga Reddy district to fill its coffers, former Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy said the government was showing no interest in providing water to irrigate lands in Ranga Reddy district.
Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, Sabitha warned that the Congress would not accept any change in the design of Pranahita-Chevella project under any circumstances. She also made it clear that her party would fight against the TRS government till the Pranahita-Chevella project water flows into Ranga Reddy district.
She said it was the responsibility of the State government to provide water to the district where there was no water facility. Meanwhile, Ranga Reddy Zilla Parishat meeting ended in chaos at the civic body office here on Saturday when the Congress members went on warpath questioning why the government had changed the Pranahitha-Chevella project design.
The Congress members demanded that the government take up the project as per the original design only. The Opposition leaders, holding placards, mobbed Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy and raised slogans. A wordy duel took place between TRS MLA Manchireddy Kishan Reddy and Congress MLA T Rammohan Reddy. The Minister left the meeting in a hurry over the unruly behaviour of Congress MLAs.
