Hyderabad: The participants of the 29th batch of Vaktha shed their stage fear and vowed to overcome the fear of holding mike in front of an audience after attending two-day training classes on August 8 and 9. With burning desire to turn as good orators, they are now ready to grab the mikes, rather wait for someone to call up their name.

Jointly organised by HMTV and Kaushalya School of Life Skills, the two-day public speaking skills training programme was attended by several aspiring politicians and businessmen coming from Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh. While expressing satisfaction after the training, they termed it as a life time experience. D Balreddy, Director, Hyderabad Media House and lead faculty gave the important tips and techniques related to public speaking while adeptly covering the dos and don’ts of oratory.

He explained them as to how a good speaker controls the mood of audience. The session on ‘Influencer’, inspired the participants to become a good communicator who plays great role while influencing people with his or her attitude. Anand Parjanya, faculty on body language, trained the participants on maintaining the posture while delivering a speech and communicating at a public place.

He explained as to how the orator should communicate the subject with the coordinating actions of hands. While giving feedback, A Chandra Raju expressed confidence that he was ready to hold mike and speak without hesitation. All the anxiety he had developed since the time of childhood was lost in thin air after attending Vaktha, said. Raju further said, “Fearing that someone would call up my name, I used to hide behind others.” C Parijatha, an aspiring orator, held that the tips provided at Vaktha would help her achieve the objective of becoming a good public speaker.

P Srikanth felt that the experience would stay with him for lifelong similar to a Swallow, a tiny migration bird of America which travels thousands of kilometres from Argentina to California by taking breaks in between on sea by standing on stick it carries. “Vaktha will be the stick, which will help me stay afloat on the high seas,” he said.
