On July 6, the workers launched the strike demanding hike in the salaries of the sanitation workers and also to take back the suspended workers in the GHMC limits.


Due to the unhealthy conditions and the spread of seasonal diseases along with dengue and also the Independence Day celebrations, the Municipal workers Joint Action Committee said they were calling off the strike. However, the leaders informed that they would continue their protest for their demands while delivering their duties.
