Harish seeks report on errors in estimates
Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Monday directed Manik Raj, Rehabilitation Commissioner, to submit a report within 15 days into the alleged irregularities in the estimates for providing financial assistance to those displaced by the Jurala project submergence area in Nagar Doddi village under Dharur mandal of Mahbubnagar district.

Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Monday directed Manik Raj, Rehabilitation Commissioner, to submit a report within 15 days into the alleged irregularities in the estimates for providing financial assistance to those displaced by the Jurala project submergence area in Nagar Doddi village under Dharur mandal of Mahbubnagar district.
Reacting to reports in a section of the media on the irregularities, the Minister directed the Rehabilitation Commissioner to submit a factual report in two weeks. Reports alleged that politicians, officials, engineers and Revenue Department authorities had conspired to loot public money and inflated estimates of compensation to be paid to the oustees.
The Minister also warned that stringent action would be taken against those involved in corrupt practices and irregularities. Steps would be taken to see that the displaced people get justice.
