The traffic on the bustling stretch between Banjara Hills and Secunderabad came to near standstill till late in the evening. Traffic snarls were also witnessed in Himayatnagar, Narayanguda and Kachiguda. To cover a distance of about 6 kms it took about an hour said V Venkatesh, a resident of Ramnagar. However, the officials refuted that the Traffic jam was caused because of the festivities. L S Chauhan, Traffic DCP (North) said that the traffic jam on Banjara Hills to Secunderabad stretch was due to Metro Rail works.

While A V Ranganath, Traffic DCP (South) said that the police did not make any special arrangements on the occasion, as there were no traffic jams.

“There were no issues with traffic today. Being Saturday, which is also a holiday for IT companies we did not face problems. I toured the entire area and parts of Old City,” he claimed.
