Irregularities in Bhoomi Heen Kisan alleges BJP

Khammam: BJP district president K Sridhar Reddy alleged that the ruling TRS leaders gave diluted the ‘Bhoomi Heen Kisan’, a Central government initiative that provides institutional finance to landless farmers.

Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday, he alleged that irregularities took place in the implementation of Bhoomi Heen Kisan.

“The programme is meant for the poor tenant farmers who are not in a position to provide guarantee to bankers to get the benefit of institutional finances. But all the beneficiary groups are connected to TRS leaders or activists,” Reddy said.

It was a clear case of bulldozing the spirit of the programme by the ruling party leaders, he said, maintaining that many of the groups which got loans from NABARD and DCCB were not eligible. Sridhar Reddy demanded the government to order a probe into the issue and take action against those who were behind it.

Stating that the administration had failed to create awareness among the people about the programme, the BJP leader threatened to approach the Lok Ayukta if the authorities fail to take the action against the errant.BJP Khammam Parliament in-charge V Lakshmaiah, district secretary K Upender and others were present.
