Hyderabad: Even as chain-snatching incidents are on the rise, Telangana Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy on Monday said that such incidents were very much under control in the state capital.
In a reply to a question posed by Congress legislators- J Geetha Reddy, DK Aruna and SA Sampath Kumar in the Assembly, he said this year 227 chain-snatching cases were only reported as against 582 last year.
He admitted that a housewife lost her life during chain-snatching event and another woman was seriously injured in the city.Various measures have been taken by Hyderabad and Cyberabad police to prevent the snatching crimes, the minister added.
