TDP flays govt for scaling down security
Accusing the Telangana government of indulging in vindictive politics, the State TDP unit on Monday demanded the government to explain the reasons behind downsizing the security cover of its party President L Ramana and floor leader E Dayakar Rao without serving any notice. The TDP is also planning to approach the court over the issue.

Hyderabad: Accusing the Telangana government of indulging in vindictive politics, the State TDP unit on Monday demanded the government to explain the reasons behind downsizing the security cover of its party President L Ramana and floor leader E Dayakar Rao without serving any notice. The TDP is also planning to approach the court over the issue.
Senior party leader R Chandrasekhar Reddy questioned, “What prompted the government to cut down on security measures for the two leaders? Former minister Ramana has been provided one plus one security for the last one decade. In view of threat from extremists, Dayakar was offered one plus three security and an escort facility.
Dayakar had escaped attacks thrice in the past. In the past too, the government had issued orders to reduce the security cover but had to revert after the court intervened.” “The two leaders received letters a month after the decision to downsize their security was taken.
This is nothing but political vendetta by the government,” he added. The TDP is also planning to lodge a complaint to DGP Anurag Sharma against the move.
