Contempt case: HC orders notices to Sujana Industries
Justice R Subhash Reddy of the High Court at Hyderabad on Friday ordered notices in a contempt case filed against Sujana Universal Industries.
Hyderabad: Justice R Subhash Reddy of the High Court at Hyderabad on Friday ordered notices in a contempt case filed against Sujana Universal Industries.
The judge was dealing with a case filed by Mauritius Commercial Bank. The bank approached the court when the company failed to repay amount loaned to it. The company had agreed to furnish bank guarantee. The bank then filed a petition in the court seeking details of assets, etc.
Sujana Universal Industries did not give authenticated details of immovable assets but gave details of bank accounts in Chennai and other places beyond the jurisdiction of the city court at Hyderabad. The bank filed the contempt case in High Court contending that all this was done to scuttle the administration of justice.
