Hyderabad: Gold biscuits worth over Rs 1.2 crore were seized from a woman by customs officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport during the early hours on Thursday.

According to RGIA Customs Assistant Commissioner N Priyanka, the woman identified as Gangula Malleshwari hailing from Kadapa, arrived in Shamshabad at about 12.10 am on Thursday in a flight from Bangkok (TD 329).

The woman was walking suspiciously towards the exit. When she was intercepted for checking, the officials identified huge quantity of gold moulded in the form of biscuits attached to her hip. Malleshwari was detained for questioning and gold biscuits weighing 4.6 kg were seized from her. "Malleshwari has been detained for questioning and gold biscuits weighing 4.6 kg has been seized from her," the officer said.
