Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) have decided to work together on implementation of Building Penalisation Scheme (BPS) and Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) more efficiently.

HMDA Commissioner T Chiranjeevulu and GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy met at GHMC headoffice and decided to cooperate with each other on several developmental programmes taking place in the twin cities. Due to miscommunication, both HMDA and GHMC have been failing to implement various developmental programmes effectively in the city, felt GHMC Commissioner. The co-ordination between GHMC and HMDA would enhance the services to the citizens and solve their apprehensions quickly, he added.

Reddy requested the HMDA Commissioner to take part in co-ordination committee meetings, where other key departments like Traffic police, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) and Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) take part.
