TRS jubilant over Warangal result
Hyderabad: The Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who is in an upbeat mood following the landslide victory of the party candidate in the Warangal by elections has announced all things to all people.
Addressing media on Tuesday evening, the Chief Minister made an attempt to please all sections of the society in the State.
He announced that the notification for DSC will be made in next 10- 15 days. He said that even the 1998 qualified teachers who have been awaiting postings will also get them soon.
Referring to the long pending demand of regularisation of contract workers, KCR said that this process would be completed in the next two months. Reiterating that the government would go ahead with its chosen path in implementing the electoral promises notwithstanding the “baseless” criticism by opposition parties, he said it was also decided to extend the two bedroom housing scheme to home guards, private employees and journalists. Even nominated posts will be filled in one month’s time, he said.
He said the opposition tried its best to create an impression among people that the government had failed in all respects and that it was mired in corruption but people did not believe them.
Enthused by the confidence they had reposed in his government, he said he has decided to give a special development fund of Rs 25 crore to each minister in the next budget so that they can immediately take up various developmental works.
Reassuring the farmers, he said the government had already spent Rs 8000 crore towards loan waiver scheme and would put pressure on the Centre during the Parliament session to see that the cotton farmer gets justice and Cotton Corporation of India comes forward to buy the cotton.
Rao said that the Warangal by poll result has put greater responsibility on the government. It would now speed up implementation of the promises and would give top most priority to irrigation projects.
Soon he said he would lay foundation stone for Kaleswaram project. The irrigation department had identified a barrage site for the project and would ensure near zero per cent submergence. This project would supply 16 TMC water throughout the year.
By integrating Rajiv Sagar and Indira Sagar, Khammam district would get water to irrigate five lakh acres, he said. He said the earlier government had totally ignored irrigation sector in Telangana and hence the government has now decided to accord priority to Pen Ganga project.
Soon foundation stone for this project would also be laid, he said. The government aims to provide water for one crore acres by 2021. The Chief Minister further said that the 40,000 Self Help Groups in the State will get incentives soon.
KCR also announced that from March 2016, Kalyanalakhsmi scheme would be extended to the BPL card holders including BC’s and people of upper caste. He said as the government was people centric, he would now spend more time among them. “I will be touring all the districts and will spend about a week to ten days a month in each district, he added.
Promising to improve the quality of education, he said search committees have been constituted for appointing the vice chancellors to the universities. The government is also ready to increase the grants to the universities, he said.
