ASI money lending victims expressed doubts over CID investigation since ASI is reported to have links with top CID officials
Karimnagar: The victims of ASI Mohan Reddy’s money lending business, who couldn’t raise voice against him earlier, are now daring to do so one after another, after the ASI was arrested. While many victims have already lodged complaint with the police, some others interacted with the media here on Saturday.
Pouring their troubles before the media in a press conference, they wanted Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to do justice to them and take severe action against Mohan Reddy, who harassed them severely by usurping their properties.
Expressing doubts over the CID investigation since ASI has links with top CID officials, they wanted KCR to transfer the case to CBI.
Thatipamula Saroja said they borrowed Rs 5 lakh in 2010 by mortgaging their house worth Rs 1.5 crore and the rate of interest was increased from 3 to 5 after taking the amount. The ASI demanded them to pay additional Rs 20 lakh when they asked him to return their house documents. When they refused to pay the amount, the ASI transferred the house on his benami name, Saroja complained.
Another victim, N Anji Reddy said he made an agreement with K Renuka of Ganesh Nagar in Karimnagar town for purchasing her house at Rs 1.4 crore in 2014 and paid Rs 40 lakh towards advance. But the ASI came in between and transferred the house in his name and refused to pay Rs 40 lakh.
On the other hand, Lok Satta Udyma Samstha wrote a letter to Governor E S L Narasimhan, asking him to use his good office to transfer Mohan Reddy’s case to CBI from CID. In another letter addressed to District Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad, the Samstha urged to cancel the weapon licence of ASI.
