Hyderabad to get additional water supply

Hyderabad: With the operation of third pump on Godavari Project System, additional water quantity of 28 MGD (Millions of gallons of water per day) is added to current water supply in Hyderabad.
The operation of the first pump in Godavari project started on November 27, second pump was started on December 2, said the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board officials, adding that a total of 364 MGD of water was supplied to citizens of Hyderabad on Friday whereas 340 MGD was supplied on the same day in 2014.
On Friday, the officials including General Manager (O&M Division) and his staff seized the motors from Krishna Nagar of Dilsukhnagar section which were illegally used in sucking water from the water board pipelines. The consumers were advised not fix motors to water board pipelines.
The officials said that in certain localities water waste was seen due to the over flow of water storage tanks after getting filled regularly. This problem was seen more during morning hours, the officials said.
