Khammam MLC polls: TRS wins MLC polls, YSRCP pushed to third place

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi won the Telangana Legislative Council election from the Local Area Constituency in Khammam District. TRS candidate B Lakshminarayana won over his rival CPI- CPI (M) combine candidate Puvvada Nageswara Rao with a margin of 31 votes.
Lakshminarayana secured 313 votes where as Puvvada Nageswara Rao earned a mere 275 votes. The YSRCP candidate secured third place by securing 102 votes.The TRS candidate was in the lead right from the beginning of the counting on Wednesday.
Soon after the result of the poll was announced, the TRS party men celebrated the victory and distributed sweets by bursting crackers in the district.
