Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao likely to lay foundation stone for the Government Medical College in Mahabubnagar in January first week.

According officials of the Health department, they had complied with all the suggestions made by the Medical Council of India (MCI) during the recent inspection.

The sources said 463 posts were sanctioned for the medical college and had sent a note to get approval of the cabinet. The medical college will have six professors, 16 assistant professors, 33 associate professors, 36 tutors and Senior Resident Doctors and 27 junior doctors posts.

Telangana government gave administrative sanction for Rs 450 crore to start the college by the next academic year 2016-17 with 150 seats. The medical college will be established at Yedira village on the outskirts of Mahbubnagar town.
