A minor boy died of burns when the car he was in along with his teenage brother caught fire. The incident took place in Gayatri Nagar near Borabanda in Hyderabad when Sriyan Reddy with his 16-year-old brother Sujanth Reddy had been searching for a pen-drive inside the car parked near their house.

Meerpet police station inspector J Venkat Reddy said that the car belonged to one of their family members and said the cause of fire is being investigated but it appears to be that either a short circuit or the siblings were playing with a matchbox leading to the fire erupting suddenly.

While Sujanth managed to escape and brought in his parents, the blaze however engulfed the car trapping the minor boy inside. The doors were broken and the younger boy was rushed to a private hospital but he succumbed to his injuries during the treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.
