Khammam: Condolence meetings were held at several places in Khammam district on Sunday to pay homage to the senior leader and general secretary of Communist party of India (CPI), Ardhendu Bhushan Bardhan.

Recollecting their experiences with the departed leader during his visit to the district several times, party leaders paid rich tributes to Bardhan by garlanding his portrait. They appreciated the leader’s fighting spirit for the welfare of weaker sections along with spreading communist movements deep into the society.

A condolence meeting was held at Giriprasad Bhavan of AITUC office in the town on the day. Speaking at the meeting, AITUC state general secretary Potu Prasad said that Bardhan, right from his student stage, had participated in many movements of students to workers organisations across the country. His demise was a big loss to the workers unions in India and to the party.

AITUC district leaders S Narsasimha Rao, S K Sabeer Pasha, G Laskhmi Narayana, Y Sambashiva Reddy, A Gandhi, S K Saida were present along with others.
